Peter’s inspiration: “This Lancaster belongs to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Conningsby. I painted this in 1980 for the Guild of Aviation Artists Exhibition in London.

“The Lancaster has a significant meaning as my late father was a Flight Engineer flying Lancasters during the war. With this particular Aircraft I have been able to visit the flight deck on several occasions. In 1987 I was commissioned by the Flight to paint the front cover of their 30th Anniversary Brochure.”
